Quick installation notes
Windows
Run the installer. If SmartScreen appears, click “More info” → “Run anyway”. LUCID will be available in the Start menu.
macOS
Open the .dmg and drag LUCID to Applications. On first launch you may need to right-click → Open if Gatekeeper blocks it.
Linux
AppImage: make executable (`chmod +x`) and run. .deb / .rpm: install with your package manager as usual.
You also need Ollama installed and running so LUCID can talk to local AI models.
How releases and versioning work
LUCID uses semantic versioning (for example v1.0.0, v1.1.0, v2.0.0).
- Major (1 → 2) – big changes that may require attention
- Minor (1.0 → 1.1) – new features, still compatible
- Patch (1.0.0 → 1.0.1) – bug fixes and small improvements
Every official version is published as a GitHub Release. The download buttons above always point to the assets of the latest stable release. You can also visit the Releases page to see older versions or pre-releases.
Progressive releases mean we ship small, frequent updates rather than waiting for huge yearly drops. This keeps improvements coming regularly while remaining easy to update.
