Privacy Policy

A simple promise
LUCID is designed to keep your data on your computer. We do not run a cloud service that stores your chats, files, or projects.
What stays on your device
- All conversations and messages
- Uploaded files and attachments
- Projects and their contents
- Automation settings and task history
- Application logs
- Settings and configuration
These live in a local folder on your machine (typically under your user profile). Nothing is sent to us or to any third-party server by default.
AI models
LUCID talks to models that run on your own computer through Ollama. Your prompts and the model’s replies stay local. We never see them.
No accounts required
You do not need to create an account or sign in to use LUCID. There is no user profile stored on any external service.
Telemetry and analytics
LUCID does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics by default. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or personal information unless you explicitly choose to share something (for example by opening an issue on GitHub).
Internet usage
An internet connection is only needed for:
- Downloading the application itself
- Downloading AI models via Ollama (if you choose to)
- Checking for updates (optional)
Once models are on your machine, chatting works offline.
Third-party services
The only external software LUCID depends on is Ollama (which you install separately). Ollama’s own privacy practices apply to that tool. LUCID itself does not phone home.
Children’s privacy
LUCID is a general-purpose tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how LUCID handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Because the application is local-first, major changes that affect privacy would also appear in the release notes.
Questions
If you have questions about privacy, open an issue on the GitHub repository.
